The Board of Directors at Pets In The Park provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure our charity continues to deliver essential veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness. Comprising dedicated professionals with expertise in veterinary care, finance, business, and community service, our Board guides the organisation’s long-term vision, strengthens its operations, and upholds its values.

Each Board member is committed to ensuring Pets In The Park remains sustainable, ethical, and impactful. Their collective experience and passion for both animal welfare and social justice drive the charity’s mission forward, helping us expand our reach and improve the lives of pets and their owners across Australia.


 

Jay Potter

BBus, GradDipMgt, MBA, GAICD, MICDA

President

Jay Potter brings over a decade of executive management and board governance experience across veterinary, industrial, leisure, non-profit, and consulting sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting, Finance & Commercial Law), a Graduate Diploma in Management, and an MBA, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He spent five years as General Manager of the Centre for Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE), leading one of Australia’s premier specialist and emergency veterinary hospitals. Jay also serves on the Board of the Australian American Chamber of Commerce PNW.

Originally from Melbourne, Jay has lived and worked in Thailand, Germany, and America, bringing a global perspective to his leadership. Since joining the Board in 2021, he has been committed to strengthening PITP’s governance and management to help the charity thrive. Driven by a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond, Jay is passionate about ensuring that vulnerable people and pets receive the care they need.

Outside of work, Jay enjoys kayaking, hiking, camping, travelling, and cooking, often alongside his husband Erik. They also have Barkley - an adopted Staffy X with a strong sense of self-importance!

Dr Lachlan Campbell

Vice President

Dr Lachlan Campbell is an experienced veterinarian and Chief Veterinary Officer at Vets Central, with a career spanning rural mixed practice, small animal emergency, and general practice in both Australia and the UK. Holding multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Hons) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons), he also possesses a Membership of the ANZCVS in Surgery. His expertise in surgery and ultrasonography is matched by his passion for clinical standards, education, mentoring, and staff wellbeing within the veterinary sector.

A dedicated volunteer, Lachlan has worked internationally providing veterinary aid to animals affected by war in Ukraine, supporting vet hospital operations in Afghanistan, and delivering care in the Pacific Islands with Vets Beyond Borders. His commitment to ensuring vulnerable animals receive the care they need led him to Pets In The Park, where he first joined the Board before progressing to the role of Vice President.

At home, Lachlan enjoys fishing, surfing, and boxing, but most of all, spending time with his two young children, Penny and William. At home, he and his family share their lives with Euka and Edna, two beach-loving dogs - Edna, in particular, is a special case, having been born with cerebellar hypoplasia, deafness, and blindness: the ultimate veterinarian’s dog!

Dr Jaxon Anderson

BVSc, MBA, MAICD

Secretary

Dr Jaxon Anderson is a qualified veterinarian with a Master of Business Administration, and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), combining his clinical expertise with a strong interest in the business and leadership aspects of the veterinary sector. After graduating from James Cook University, his career has since spanned clinical practice and industry roles.

Jaxon first joined Pets In The Park as a volunteer vet at the Brisbane Clinic before stepping into a leadership role as a Board Director. He is also the Hospital Director at SASH Sunshine Coast and QLD State Relationship Manager for SASH, supporting both the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast hospitals. His commitment to ensuring all pets receive quality care, regardless of their owner’s circumstances, is at the heart of his work with Pets In The Park.

Beyond his veterinary commitments, Jaxon serves as the QLD State Director of Out For Australia, working to create opportunities and support for the LGBTQIA+ community. At home, he and his fiancé dote on Theodore and Finn, their spoilt Cavoodles who enjoy the high life!

Olivia Fischer

BCom, CA, JP

Treasurer

Olivia Fischer is a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) and Justice of the Peace, with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) and over a decade of experience in the industry. As a Client Manager at her accounting firm, she works with a diverse range of clients, though she has a particular soft spot for farmers—a connection to her rural upbringing in Warwick.

A long-time volunteer bookkeeper with Pets In The Park before joining the Board, Olivia brings both expertise and heart to her role as Treasurer. She is passionate about using her professional skills to support a charity that makes a meaningful impact, ensuring the pets of people experiencing homelessness receive the care they deserve.

Outside of work, Olivia enjoys reading, coffee catch-ups, walks by the lake, and spending time with her niece and nephew. At home, she’s kept company by Abby, her tortoiseshell cat who took up residence on her desk during lockdown and never left!
