Our Story

Pets In The Park began in 2012 with a simple vision: to provide free and compassionate veterinary care to pets whose owners are experiencing homelessness. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves the love and comfort of a pet, our journey started with a small group of veterinarians volunteering in public parks, offering essential medical support to pets in need.

As we listened to the stories of our clients—people who had often faced unimaginable challenges—it became apparent that these pets were more than companions. They were protectors, lifelines, and a profound source of hope. With the bond between owner and pet at the heart of everything we do, our mission has grown into a national movement, empowering volunteers, veterinarians, and communities across Australia to come together in support of these remarkable relationships.

Today, PITP operates a network of volunteer-run clinics in cities and towns around the country. We’re proud to deliver services like health checks, vaccinations, parasite control, and wound care, all made possible through our dedicated network of veterinary professionals, donors, and supporters.

For us, it’s about more than just medical care—it’s about dignity, community, and kindness. Every clinic visit strengthens the bond between pets and their owners, reminding them that they are not alone.
